On August 1st, 2025 Pop Toy Show (PTS) was inaugurated, and the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Pop Mart. The global call for entries for Global Zodiac Design Competition Exhibition was officially released. Young artists shared their stories about creation, and the trend cultural creation made a wonderful appearance, showing the audience the unique charm of traditional zodiac culture and modern trend art.

活动现场,大赛组委会正式宣布启动吉庆年年—全球吉庆生肖设计大赛(丙午马年)邀请展作品征集活动。本次展览首次面向全球公开征集生肖主题艺术作品,优秀参展作品将有机会在2026年春节期间参加大赛巡展,并跟随“欢乐春节”活动出访海外,推动中国生肖文化走向世界。
At the event, the competition committee officially launched an open global call for entries for "Auspicious Year after Year: Global Zodiac Design Competition Exhibition (Year of the Horse)". Notably, this marked the first time the exhibition publicly extends invitation to zodiac-themed artworks worldwide. Selected outstanding pieces will tour overseas during the 2026 Chinese New Year period as part of the competition's international exhibition series and the "Happy Chinese New Year" celebrations, propelling traditional Chinese zodiac culture onto the global stage.

在特别设置的设计师分享环节,机器人装置艺术家、甲辰龙年大赛产品设计单元一等奖《长城龙》创作者孙世前展示了现代机甲艺术与生肖设计的完美融合,珠宝设计师朱力分享了如何用现代设计语言讲述生肖故事的心得,呼吁更多设计师参与大赛。
In a specially arranged designer sharing session, robotic installation artist Sun Shiqian, the first prize winner of Product Design Unit of the Year of the Dragon for his work "The Great Wall Dragon", showcased perfect integration of modern mecha art and Chinese zodiac design; Jewelry designer Zhu Li shared insights on how to tell zodiac stories using modern design language and called for more designers to participate in the competition.

开幕式上,吉庆生肖系列文创产品惊艳亮相。“舞龙”果叉将中国传统舞龙元素与现代餐具设计完美结合,既可作装饰摆件,又能拆解为实用餐叉;“年味儿”包挂则以甜蜜团圆的棒棒糖为造型,搭配毛绒触感材质,成为现场年轻人争相体验的焦点单品。这些产品不仅承载着吉祥寓意,更以时尚设计语言创新诠释了生肖文化。
At the opening ceremony, the zodiac series of cultural and creative products made a stunning debut. Among them, the "Dragon Dance" fruit fork that perfectly combines traditional Chinese dragon dance elements with modern tableware design can serve as a decorative piece and also be disassembled into a practical fork. The "New Year Flavor" bag charm that takes the shape of a sweet reunion candy cane, paired with plush touch materials becomes the focal point that young people at the scene eagerly wanted to experience. These products not only carry auspicious meanings but also innovatively reinterpret zodiac culture through fashionable design language.

全球吉庆生肖设计大赛由北京市文化和旅游局与中央美术学院联合主办,大赛共收到来自全国各省市及4个大洲25个国家的35930件参赛作品,涵盖平面设计、产品设计、数字艺术、动漫等多个领域,充分展现了生肖文化在全球范围内的强大号召力。
The Global Zodiac Design Competition, co-sponsored by China's Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and Central Academy of Fine Arts, received 35,930 submissions from all provinces and municipalities across China as well as 25 countries across four continents. These entries covered various fields including graphic design, product design, digital art, and animation, fully demonstrating the strong appeal of zodiac culture on a global scale.
“生肖不仅是中华文化的重要符号,更是连接全球华人的情感纽带。”大赛组委会负责人表示,“我们希望通过创新设计让传统文化‘活’起来、‘潮’起来,打造具有国际影响力的文化IP。”未来,大赛将在文化内涵挖掘、平台机制完善、国际传播渠道拓展等方面持续发力,为传统生肖文化注入全新时代内涵,引领文旅消费新潮流。
"Zodiac signs are not only important symbols of Chinese culture but also emotional bonds connecting people of Chinese descent worldwide," said the head of the organizing committee, "We hope to bring traditional culture to life and make it trendy through innovative designs, creating culturally influential IPs on an international scale." She also said that in the future, the competition will continue to focus on exploring cultural depth, improving platform mechanisms, and expanding international dissemination channels, infusing traditional zodiac culture with contemporary significance and leading new trends in cultural tourism consumption.
据悉,全球吉庆生肖设计大赛(丙午马年)作品征集已圆满结束,评审工作正在有序开展,评审结果将于近期通过大赛官方网站及“北京海外文化交流”微信公众号正式公布,敬请关注!
It has been announced that the Global Zodiac Design Competition (Year of the Horse) has successfully concluded its submission phase.
